Molecules That Matter
September 8, 2007 – April 13, 2008
The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College

Molecules That Matter showcases ten organic molecules, each associated with a decade of the 20th century. This special online feature for Molecules That Matter complements the gallery exhibition and provides additional historical information and background about each molecule. It was created at the Tang Museum by a team of Skidmore College students working with Susi Kerr, the Tang’s Senior Educator, Professor Ray Giguere, the exhibition’s originator and co-curator, Tang Director and exhibition co-curator John Weber, Kara Spellman, the Tang’s web consultant, and the exhibition’s curatorial project assistant, Kristen Carbone.  Students on the Molecules That Matter project team include:  Riley Albair, Lea Chiara, Jessica Horowitz, Michelle Julian, Jackie Koustmer, Kacey Light, Tom Likins, Erin Manning, Alexandra Reingold, Blair Stelle, and Lillian Torrey.

Additional information will be added during the course of the exhibition, and visitors are encouraged to check the site periodically for updates.

Molecules That Matter is organized in partnership with the Chemical Heritage Foundation of Philadelphia, where it will be on exhibit beginning in August 2008 before touring to the College of Wooster, Baylor University, and Grinnell College.
